Revival Studio London.
How it all started...
Revival Studio London was established in the summer of 2016 by two passionate entrepreneurs that grew up with analogue photographs. The brand developed organically from the curious intentions of the Studio’s Director Erfan, when he decided he was sick of having thousands upon thousands of digital photos on his laptop that he rarely looked at or acknowledged. Unfortunately, although the near extinction of analogue photography was not the intention of the digital revolution, this happened to be a by-product, and it is now rare for people to manifest their photos in a physical, tangible format. The art of taking the time to compose a photograph has been unintentionally left behind; with the rise of camera phones people snap away without giving the subject matter and composition a second thought.
With a sense of nostalgia, Erfan purchased a bruised and battered Polaroid SX-70 and set about taking apart, mending and refurbishing it. Within a few days he had transformed the SX-70 into a fully functioning and beautiful camera that he used to capture wonderful images of friends and family.
The seed was planted; Erfan and his partner embarked on a project to spread the love and enable the accessibility of this dying art medium. Although we all love digital photography and we believe it has and will continue to have a huge impact on photography as an art medium, we also believe analogue photography is so special and offers an element of magic that digital photography will never reach.
At Revival Studio London we stock lovingly refurbished vintage cameras and accessories via our website, and we aim to make it simple and straight-forward for our customers to revert back to analogue photography. We offer support to our customers via a six month purchase warranty and a query page on our website.
Try this; the next time you’re with family or friends take a Polaroid Camera with you and leave it lying around for all to use. The photographs that are created will be ones that you will forever hold dear to your heart, and look back on often.
